Steve Wilmes Consulting, Inc. was established in 1988 in Cottage Grove Minnesota by Steve Wilmes. It started as a one person business creating databases for small businesses. From its humble beginnings it has transformed itself into a five person consultancy specialized database and customer relationship management consulting company for medium to large business across the country.

Our people have a history in backend technologies like SQL Server, Oracle and FileMaker Pro. We work with frontend technologies like Pivotal, FileMaker Pro, Active Server Pages, Lasso/HTML, Great Plains, Crystal Reports and Visual Basic.

We differ from many of our competitors in several ways. First of all as noted we are all leaning toward the technical. We stay "off the bench" and prefer to all work 100% of the time. By slowing growth we all stay busy and can pick the work that interests us and keep doing what we love to do. By relying on referrals and repeat customers we don't have to put our energy into marketing and can concentrate on working.

Second, we try to be enablers. We want the client to learn the technologies. The more clients know about the technologies, the more they appreciate what we know so we won't patronize or hide the details from you. By being more involved during the development process the people we work with are better equipped to champion and support the systems.
